• Ability to perform client consideration and provide solution
• Seeking an Avaya telecom engineer able to support the second districts PBX infrastructure, adjunct servers, and peripheral devices.
• Must be versatile and well versed to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of
Avaya's state of the art telecommunications equipment and technologies such as the 87xx IP solution, Avaya Contact Centre, Modular Messaging voicemail systems, Witness call recording, Avaya IQ and VoIP protocols such as SIP and H.323
• Assist in designing technology systems including, Avaya PBX, Voicemail, Call Canter and VoIP solutions Identified strategic solutions, make suggestions for ensuring a cost-effective and efficient infrastructure environment to support client requirements.
• Provide technology support services: Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems; alert management and account team when sensitive issues arise or a major problem is suspected; minimize client productivity loss caused by technology outages.
• Act as a technical advisor: Provide technical escalation and mentoring for other engineers.
• Continuously strive to improve technical skills: Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving services efficiency and effectiveness; keep abreast of new hardware and software technology products.
• Maintain technical certifications: Maintain or achieve technical certifications as directed by manager
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience in telecommunications applications and associated adjuncts implementations, some experience in VoIP implementations and troubleshooting.
• Configure least cost routing (ARS), trunk groups, dial plans, feature access codes, coverage paths, hunt groups, station features and other common phone system tasks.
• Ability to cross-connect station and trunks via punch down tool on 66 or 110 blocks.
• Ability to work with phone carriers on test and turn up of E1/PRI facilities.
• Understanding of TCP/IP and VoIP, including QoS protocols.
• Understanding of DHCP and TFTP servers in support of IP Telephones.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients and end users.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs.
• Understanding of Audio/Visual technology
• In depth understanding of the Avaya ESS configuration, network region, IP codec sets, IP phone configuration file, tenant partition, uniform dial plan, IGAR, IVR, VDN and vector functionality.
• Experienced with troubleshooting on system level issues
• Good Spoken and written English, Dari and or Pashto.
