Job Summary


As a team member of the department of biomedical Engineering in FMIC, the Biomedical engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the hospital imaging & General Radiology programs and assisting the management in technology to ensure; equipment safety, equipment reliability, and to deliver the service cost effectively in the French Medical Institute for Children and women hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Duties & Responsibilities


The carry out Preventive, Breakdown, and Corrective Maintenance of the imaging equipment as per the standard procedures defined by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

To maintain equipment like EEG, EMG RIS, HIS, DICOM , PACS and other associated equipment.

To oversee day-to-day affairs of the imaging team along with assigning works to individuals.

To lead and monitor various quality projects of the department and present the same as and when required.

To assist the management in technology selection and to ensure equipment safety, equipment reliability, and to deliver the service cost effectively.

To lead departmental activities for JCIA, ISO, Six Sigma and other quality related standards.

Job Requirements


Graduate from a recognized Engineering University or Institute of Technology in Engineering degree or diploma in electronics or in biomedical field

Minimum of five years of experience, preferably in Imaging and General Radiology for the engineering degree holders and minimum seven years’ experience for the diploma holders

Oversees trained candidate and experience on CT scan and other equipment used in Imaging & General Radiography will be an asset to the candidates experience

Hand owns experience on EEG and EMG will be an asset to the candidates experience

Capable to maintain independently. CT scan, Angiography, General Radiography and Fluoroscopy equipment

Preferably trained and troubleshooting knowledge on Mammography. OPG and Dental equipment

The candidate must be able to know RIS, HIS, DICOM and able to troubleshoot fault in PACS and other associated equipment

Trained and troubleshooting skills on cardiac and general ultrasound will be preferred

Basic knowledge of microprocessor and PC based equipment, with experience in software controlled data acquisition and processing equipment.

Demonstrate technical skills and mechanical aptitude demonstrate good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; proven organization skills.

The candidate’s verbal, numerical, written and mechanical, coordination skills must be good

Must be reliable, alert accurate, capable of working independently and possess good judgment and initiative.

The candidate must be able to couch, train and transfer his knowledge to the other biomedical engineers

The candidate must be aware and experienced in an environment, where JCIA, ISO, Six Sigma and other quality related standard are in practice

The candidate must be able to know RIS, HIS, DICOM and able to troubleshoot fault in PACS and other associated equipment
