Job Summary

Project Manager is a member of the project management team and is responsible for the technical, finance, administration/HR, Logistic aspects related to the implementation of the project. S/he is responsible for the overall quality of care, continuous quality development and all programmes of the project. S/he in close collaboration with KMO Health Team Unit oversees planning, implementation, quality control, monitoring and supervision and ensures goals set in the work plan are met on time and according to available budget. In a supervisory role the Project Manager is responsible for the staff in the project.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning, implementing, and supervision of all project activities.
• Monitor and supervise progress of programs.
• Provide monthly and quarterly report of program activities to Health Team Unit.
• Organize the health facilities in the province according to general guidelines policies and framework of the PGC
• To enhance the professional and managerial skills of the Health ,Finance, Admin/HR at Provincial level
• Collaborate with Provincial Health Directorate and other locally active agencies to co-ordinate the health activities in the province through PHCC meetings.
• To regularly visit and supervise training centres, and clinics
• Responsible for quality control of the medical equipment and material purchased
• To arrange meetings with project staff to solve upcoming problems in the field
• To check the budget follow ups and give feedback to technical, Finance ,Administration Section and HTU
• Preparation, revision, and follow up of the project budget line.
• To assist the Technical Manager, Health Supervisor/Trainer and MCH Chief Officer for appropriate assessment, allocation of training sessions, curriculum development and implementation of training.
• Meet all officers to discuss program progress and problems on biweekly base
• Work closely with technical, admin/HR .and finance officers in the development of SCA program.
• Assist technical, admin/HR .and finance in the planning and implementing of program.
• Evaluate and supervise the performance of the clinic staff
• To regularly supervise health facilities in Laghman BPHS and identify the implementation problems, weaknesses and strengths and, in consultation with the HTU, find appropriate and innovative solutions towards them

Job Requirements

• Graduated from recognised university as a Medical Doctor , Master in Public Health is preferable
• At least ten years experience in health management and preferably extensive time in a managerial position within a NGO or UN organisation
• Familiar with design, evaluation and monitoring of health projects
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken) of Pashto, Dari and English
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and capacity to deal with different rural communities with varied political/socio-economic and educational background
• Sufficient responsible experience in project planning and management
