OXUS Afghanistan started Operation in 2005 under support of ACTED, a development and relief NGO, which is operating in twenty five Countries of the world, and Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA). Currently, OXUS Afghanistan has a portfolio of over AFN 816 million with an outreach of about 22,000 customers managed through 19 Branches, 10 provinces. OXUS Afghanistan is a part of OXUS Group, a global network of Microfinance Institutions created by ACTED, a leading international NGO operating in 25 countries. OXUS Afghanistan was created with funding from the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), a Government Apex agency set up by international donors in 2003 in order to develop and support the microfinance sector in Afghanistan. OXUS Afghanistan Provides conventional and Islamic financing. OXUS -Afghanistan has individual and group lending which helps Afghan people have access to finance. OXUS-Afghanistan provides financing for youth and women as women improvement process and support them for better access to finance.

Skills Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

1)Provides leadership and good management to the staff by:

a)Acting as a positive model to the staff and giving the good example.
b)Leading the development of the Branch according to the objective and targets set for in the business plan, including attaining operation and financial sustainability.
c)Monitoring the Branch team to ensure efficiency and delivery of high quality products and services to clients.
d)Ensuring that staff and clients receive the training they need to carry out their responsibilities.
e)Ensuring the free flow of information between teams, Branches, and external organization; and representing OXUS Afghanistan at all relevant meetings with governmental and traditional officials, NGOs, and others.

2)Supervises all the administrative activities of the Branch:

a)Conducts staff performance reviews every six (6) months and provides regular feedback to his/her team.
b)Reviews and signs all administrative documents including, but not limited to contracts for staff, office and transportation.
c)Reviews monthly reports with all Branch team members, involved in the process of reporting.
d)Updates targets and data of the Branch on a regular basis and ensures that projections are accurate.
e)Ensures that all policies and procedures are being correctly implemented and details them to his/her staff.
f)Conducts regular monitoring of staff and visits clients on a regular basis to ensure quality control of information and activities.

3)Supervises all the financial activities of the Branch office:

a)Creates and manages the Branch budget, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and cost effectiveness in the use of resources on a monthly basis in cooperation with HQ.
b)Signs off all financial reports.
c)Supervises the physical cash.
d)Ensures that the daily, weekly, monthly, or annual reconciliations between the cash counts and the loan tracking and accounting software are complete and accurate.
e)Submits monthly financial and programmatic reports to the appropriate individuals and entities ensuring their accuracy and timeliness.

4)Participates in the institutional development of the OXUS Afghanistan:

a)Participates in meetings and seminars both within the local organization, nationally, and
internationally as required,
b)Cooperates fully on audits of field operations and financial operations.

Qualifications:

a)University Degree (any country) in Business, Management, Finance/Accounting, Education, similar;
b)Minimum two (5) years working experience, preferably in the field of finance or for a banking institution
c)Minimum two (2) years supervision experience;
d)Strong computer skills including Word, Excel;
e)Excellent communication and writing skills;
f)Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
g)Able to work independently and in a group, willing to take initiative, and energetic;
h)Fluent in English and Dari
