About Peace Dividend Trust - Afghanistan:

Peace Dividend Trust (PDT) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to making peace and humanitarian operations more effective, efficient and equitable. Since January 2006, PDT has operated the Peace Dividend Marketplace-Afghanistan (PDM-A) project to streamline the local procurement activities of the international community in order to strengthen the Afghan private sector. PDM-A’s efforts support the Afghanistan National Development Strategy and the Afghanistan Compact (2006). Linking demand to local supply is an effective, necessary, and sustainable pillar of private sector growth and job creation. PDM-A has facilitated the award of over 400 contracts worth more than 20 billion AFN (400 million USD) to Afghan-owned businesses. In order to increase the impact of its 4-year program in Afghanistan, PDT has opened sub-offices in Jalalabad, Mazar-e-Sharif, Kandahar and Helmand.

Job Summary:

Maintain quality communications with Afghan businesses registered with PDT in order to connect them with business, marketing, networking, and training opportunities.

• Contact businesses and update their information in PDT’s business portal, per the Business Communications Center’s update system;
• Invite identified businesses to training sessions, matchmaking seminars, and other PDT-facilitated events that may increase their business opportunities;
• Conduct surveys of businesses to determine the effectiveness of PDT services;
• Conduct surveys of businesses in support of market research activities;
• Respond to telephonic queries and educate business about existing and new services of PDT, referring them to the appropriate staff section, if necessary;
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Location:

Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable of PDT’s services;
• High school graduate preferred;
• Computer literate, good knowledge of PC/Windows software (Word, Excel);
• Exhibits patience and attention to detail;
• Ability to maintain confidentially;
• Very good communication, human relations and interpersonal skills;
• Fluent in Dari and good command of English and Pashto, both oral and written.
