Job Summary

IDS is planning to hire a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (BDM) with Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, professional writing skill in English and Dari languages and who has strong background in business development, and technical proposal development is a must requirement for this position.
Business Development Manager will work under Chief of Staff direction and close relationship with Operations, other projects and Program Units.
Business Development Manager is required to be skilled with developing proposal specially required technical methodologies.

Duties & Responsibilities

BDM will be responsible to:

Review upcoming opportunities like RFPs and Proposals, Develop required proposal structuring, Planning & Scheduling and other requirement.
Manage and communicate with other staff, projects , program and offices for collecting mandatory information needed for the proposal development.

Develop industry related oversight O&M, Training & Capacity building, M&E , Survey ……….for new opportunities in the country with Afghan Government and international clients. Attend pre-bid meetings or for business information gathering.

Conduct technical assessment in preparation of new bids response.

Work closely with the team and provide significant information and calculation to develop cost proposal.

Job Requirements

Master Degree in a relevant field

PMP certificate is preferred

6-8+ years of experience directly in Proposal writing

Excellent and proven technical knowledge of proposal development

Excellent knowledge of USAID / USACE rules and regulation “ Required”

Be familiar with Afghan Government Ministries procurement/ proposals mandates “Required”

Proven experience in Technical Assessments/Surveys

Excellent knowledge of Report writing

Able to work under pressure and be flexible in working hours

Excellent communications skills

Fluent in Writing/Reading/speaking in English Language (TOFEL/TOIC Certificates are desirable)
