About Aria Medica:
The Business Development Officer at Aria Medica will work to improve the company’s market position and achieve financial growth. He/She is responsible to define long-term financial strategic goals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions as well as deep knowledge of USAID and UN compliance, operational and financial procedures. He/She will also be developing financial proposals based on requirements set-in RFPs and identify potential clients and decision makers within the international donor organizations and assist business development manager and managing director in bringing new businesses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business Development Officer (Financial) will be responsible for undertaking the following tasks and responsibilities in a professional manner.
Working alongside a business’ Development manager, the business development officer (financial) will not only be an exceptional accountant and hands-on with company finances, but will also be commercially aware, advising on the best path of growth for the business
The business development officer will be responsible for overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of proposals/new biddings and company’s strategy and is expected to analyze figures and recommendations on the new findings.
Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including donor agencies.
Meeting potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging his/her network.
Deep knowledge of overall of USAID and UN compliance, operational and financial procedures
Specialization of a portfolio of U.S embassy, USAID and its implementing partners, UK and UN agencies.
Define project scopes, goals and deliverables that support business goals
Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the international donors’ organization.
Setting up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
Planning approaches and concepts related to pharmaceutical and health sector
Leading the development of financial proposals based on announced RFPs that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
Using a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
Initiate and bring new business ideas in the pharmaceutical and health market of Afghanistan and developing business plans/strategies
Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings with donor agencies and Afghan ministries
Master's or its equivalent degree with 5 years of experience in related field, Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
Fully aware of the national and international financial policies and standards
Familiar with sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a skilled in “reading” the market.
Able to collect and analyze financial data and to work with numbers and figures and come up with recommendations to the business development manager and Managing director
Ability to relate seemingly quite different pieces of information and to explore possibly useful linkages between them.
