Afghanistan Youth TV is designed to provide a platform for positive and constructive discussion of issues concerning youth in Afghanistan. It is a space that will connect those who do not have a voice in traditional media with experienced professionals, allowing for active and direct youth engagement with society through media. Afghanistan Youth TV aims to promote critical and independent thinking, positive change, dynamic leadership, and active involvement in the development of Afghanistan. We stand for unity, tolerance, and progress. We are committed to being a trusted provider of information and analysis on the issues faced by youth in Afghanistan. Through an inclusive media platform, we are striving be a reliable and engaging source of knowledge and to support the empowerment of youth in Afghanistan.
As a Camera Operator, make sure the camera and equipment are prepared for the required set-ups and ready for any last-minute changes. Must be able to multi-task and to watch, listen and think on their feet while carrying out complex technical tasks. Liaise closely with the Director and Producer fine-tuning the exact details of each shot, suggesting creative improvements or alternatives. Supervise the logistics of moving the camera, and oversee the Camera maintenance work carried out. Work closely with performers, guiding them on what can and cannot be seen by the camera. Work on commercials, promos and other as need basis tasks.
Ø Setting and locating video equipment
Ø Plan and capture videos as a practice Ø Follow the script process and follow the directions of the director or the program director (in TV studios). Ø Choose the most suitable lenses and camera angles Ø Solve technical and practical problems such as exposure Ø Close cooperation with technical partners such as light and sound.
ü Bachelors preferred
ü certain courses and a minimum of 2 years work experience
Ø Good practical skills and familiarity with video equipment Ø Great interest in photography, film and video Ø Good communication skills for proper communication with all the agents of the film Ø The ability to do the right instructions and attention to detail in order to follow the correct script Ø In accordance with the orders of the director Ø Artistic visibility towards colors for professional and beautiful visuals Ø Maintaining calm under high pressure working conditions as TV projects tend to have a long and very high pressure Ø Strong physical strength and stamina for keeping and moving equipment for filming and long working hours Ø Acute attention to detail Ø Good interpersonal communication skills Ø Able to work well in groups or teams
