With direction and oversight from the Director of Civil Society Strengthening, Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for coordination and implementation of capacity building activities within Counterpart I-PACS and partners organizations, seven Intermediary Service Organizations (ISO), and 14 Civil Society Support Center (CSSC). The position requires supervisory skills to oversee performance of the staff within the department. S/he should act as an effective team member and provide useful suggestion or initiative to overall activities of Counterpart in Afghanistan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensuring quality capacity building activities delivered to partners through Civil Society Strengthening Department (CSS).
â€¢ Overall implementation of capacity building and strengthening activities, trainings and technical assistance, organizational certification process.
â€¢ Supervise departmental staff (training officers, OD officer and OCP officer) and provide feedback and guidance in implementation of their tasks.
â€¢ Take initiative and provide strategic suggestions to the management in implementation of capacity building activities.
â€¢ In close cooperation with director of CSS, develop annual work plan for the department and coordinate activities with other program departments.
â€¢ Prepare bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
â€¢ Represent department in internal meeting and the program in external meetings, as required.
â€¢ Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
University degree in social sciences or 3-5 yrs of experience.
â€¢ At least five years of experience working programmatically with NGOs, including at least three years with an international NGO.
â€¢ Experience in capacity building, supervision and management.
â€¢ Advanced organizational, communication and reporting skills.
â€¢ Fluency in English language both spoken and written, in addition to local languages Dari and Pashto
â€¢ Excellent computer skills (Work, Excel, Internet, data base)
â€¢ Attention to detail, ability to track and follow up on multiple tasks independently while keeping all stakeholders informed in a proactive manner.
â€¢ Excellent cross cultural skills, ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment, with respect, professionalism and gender sensitivity.
