Counterpart International, Multi Location
With direction and oversight from the Director of Civil Society Strengthening, Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for coordination and implementation of capacity building activities within Counterpart I-PACS and partners organizations, seven Intermediary Service Organizations (ISO), and 14 Civil Society Support Center (CSSC). The position requires supervisory skills to oversee performance of the staff within the department. S/he should act as an effective team member and provide useful suggestion or initiative to overall activities of Counterpart in Afghanistan.
Ensuring quality capacity building activities delivered to partners through Civil Society Strengthening Department (CSS).
• Overall implementation of capacity building and strengthening activities, trainings and technical assistance, organizational certification process.
• Supervise departmental staff (training officers, OD officer and OCP officer) and provide feedback and guidance in implementation of their tasks.
• Take initiative and provide strategic suggestions to the management in implementation of capacity building activities.
• In close cooperation with director of CSS, develop annual work plan for the department and coordinate activities with other program departments.
• Prepare bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
• Represent department in internal meeting and the program in external meetings, as required.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
University degree in social sciences or 3-5 yrs of experience.
• At least five years of experience working programmatically with NGOs, including at least three years with an international NGO.
• Experience in capacity building, supervision and management.
• Advanced organizational, communication and reporting skills.
• Fluency in English language both spoken and written, in addition to local languages Dari and Pashto
• Excellent computer skills (Work, Excel, Internet, data base)
• Attention to detail, ability to track and follow up on multiple tasks independently while keeping all stakeholders informed in a proactive manner.
• Excellent cross cultural skills, ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment, with respect, professionalism and gender sensitivity.
