Job Summary

The Capacity building officer will develop a strategy of capacity building activities based on a need assessment done with the partner organization and the project officer of the Child Rights Consortium. Mapping, organize or implement trainings related to child protection issues, monitoring and supervision, practical management, project cycle management and case management. Coordinate national and international specialists in assuring the sustainability of their trainings with follow up activities, handbooks or individual counseling.
In general, the Capacity Building Officer will provide support to the CRC department for the capacity building of project staff through arrangement of various best practice workshops, trainings and recommendations after certain analysis on capacities of staff. The Capacity Building Officer has the responsibility to work long hours especially in short notice assignments for the department. The incumbent has to undertake field visits, when required and according to the security situation in the field. She/He is enforced to make better the quality of trainings and ensure to strengthen the process of the capacity building.

Duties & Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the CRC Coordinator, and according to the TDH’s CPP rules and regulations, He/she has to undertake the following tasks:

• Identify the training needs/requirements for the Child Rights Consortium staff and other important stakeholders on different topics especially on social work, child rights, child protection issues, and social protection.
• Put in order a practical capacity building strategy with consideration and mapping of existing trainings with a special focus on social work and management.
• Conduct or organize trainings, seminars or workshops based on need assessment done with the Child Rights Consortium Partners.
• Participate and help to organize trainings and seminars conducted by other child protection institutions or child rights consortium members.
• Follow up of training implementation and summarize outputs of it.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of the trainings and summarize outputs and outcomes in monthly short reports and quarterly narrative reports related to the logical framework and the set objectives in it.
• Develop and prepare training materials and handbooks or support trainers or other key actors to do so and insure their distribution and use.
• Write the workshops and training plan and keep all Child Rights Consortium partner and other relevant stakeholders informed, via the CRC Coordinator.
• Insure the administrative procedures of preparation and follow up of the trainings and/or workshops.
• The Coordinator will also provide constructive feedback and insure the improvement of workshops and trainings and monitor the program.
• New initiates are provided in meetings and operational planning to improve the quality of the capacity building program inside the Child Rights Consortium.
• Helps the program department to arrange any ad-hoc based meetings
• Undertakes field visits when it is required
• Identifies training and capacity building needs for staff and prepare Training Need Assessment (TNA) with the consultation of CRC Coordinator and CRC partners.
• Helps the departments to develop the filing system of all activities and process for the future of department and program and proper record and documentation,
• Submits proper activity reports to the senior colleagues of department on regular basis.
• Develops close working relationships with all Tdh departments and stakeholders.
• Ensures teamwork approach during daily tasks performance
• Consults with the CRC Coordinator and the Delegate and senior staff while making important decisions
• Prepares weekly and monthly activity plan (the duration of the activities should be set as per need)
• Provide support to the CRC members in preparing their respective quarterly action plans/budget forecast and their monthly and quarterly reports.

Job Requirements

Education:
• University degree in social science or a relevant field
Experience:
• To have at least 3-5 years work experience in the same field with NGOs or INGOs.
• Teaching experience
• Good skills of organization and coordination
Knowledge, Skills and abilities:
• High motivated and committed.
• High level of computer knowledge and practical experience (MS office).
• Fluency in written and spoken Dari, Pashto and English.
