CWomen for Afghan Women (WAW) is a grassroots civil society organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan and New York. In particular, WAW works to help Afghan women and girls exercise their rights to pursue their individual potential to self-determination, and to representation in all areas of life—political, social, cultural, and economic. WAW relentlessly advocates for women’s rights and challenges the norms that underpin gender-based violence to influence attitudes and bring about change.
He/She is required to follow this job description and complete her works in the respect of the WAW rules and regulations.
Case Management:
Identify GBV case, register and conduct a detailed intake interview with the client to determine nature of problem
Develop a case plan is in consultation with the client, WAW defense lawyer and the project manager
Provide client with orientation about her case relating rules, regulations, services available and living accommodations.
Conduct regular mediation and counselling services with the client, her family and other relevant people
Upon the resolution of a case, hold consultations with client and family (when possible) to develop reintegration plan
conduct 6-month period of follow up with phone calls and unannounced visits to check in on clients and ensure ongoing safety ensure that all discussions with the clients are confidential
Work closely with WAW’s defense lawyer and data base assistant to make sure all the case details are recorded and saved
Provide information and reports about the clients to the manager when asked
coordinate closely with WPC and hospital doctors and develop a treatment plan for the clients who are at serious health conditions
Record and track all the services provided for the clients
Participate in family Jirgas and Shuras to reach to a solution for the specific case
Escort clients when asked
BA Degree in Law or (Islamic Law)
3 years of Experience in Related Field
Able to work overtime on weekends or holidays required by the supervisor or program
She is required to be adaptable for larger tasks not specified in this frameworK
