Job Summary

To ensure efficient and correct implementation of case management activities for CP cases, GBV survivors and People with Specific Needs (PwSN) among the IDPs, Returnees and host communities. To act according to the guiding principles of case management including using a survivor-centered approach, confidentiality, safety, do not harm and non-discrimination. To ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible technically of all the open cases with the social workers under his technical supervision (hierarchically report to DPM and PAM);

Ensure that each step of the individual case management is properly done in accordance with the INTERSOS ICM SoPs, and GBV and CP standards and principles;

Ensure the quality, regular and timely-follow up of the open cases and the implementation of the action plan;

Continuously ensure, through regular meetings (at least twice a month) with the Social Workers, that the case is progressing in the right direction, and re-assessed when needed to adapt the response;

Regularly consult with the PAM and DPM regarding the progress of the cases, request case meetings for any complicated or high-risk cases, and receive validation for the closure of the cases from Protection Officer;

Make every effort not to close a case before having exhausted all the possible resources to find the needed service for the beneficiary and according to IMS SoPs ;

Ensure that the filing of the cases is done in accordance to the SoPs in place, while ensuring confidentiality and data protection.


Capacity bulding and Reporting   


Provide regular feedback to social workers on the cases under her/his review, and provide a feedback on the closure of the cases;

Report to Protection Officer in case the services mapping needs to be updated or a sector (health, security, legal, etc.) is lacking; 

Closely and harmoniously work with the Deputy PM and the Protection Activity Manager (PAM)

through regular and ad-hoc meetings to provide feedback, promote technical ideas and discuss about

the case-load and Case Management;

Update the internal database (in liaison with DPM and PAM) on a bi-weekly basis;

Monitor the respect of confidentiality and data protection agreement and principles by the social workers under her/his technical supervision.

Coordination

Ensure good and efficient relationship with external stakeholders through regular communication and follow-up on pending/referred cases.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of Protection Principles, GBV, CP and PwSN ;

Experience and good knowledge of case management steps;

Fluency in English and Pashtu is essential (writing and speaking);

Proficiency in Computer literacy (Excel, Word, etc.);

Commitment to INTERSOS principles and Code of Conduct and PSEA policy;

Comply with all INTERSOS policies and procedures;

Prior experience in Southern Region of Afghanistan (Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Uruzgan);

Ability and willingness to travel to the areas of operation within Kandahar Province;
