About Yasna Development and Support Organization:
English Language and Computer Learning Centers (ELCLCs) is a U.S Embassy funded project, implemented by Yasna Development and Support Organization (YDSO). Its mission is to develop English Language and Computer skills of Afghan Universities' students and faculty members in order to enable them use international academic resources in their academic activities and/or pursuit higher studies at international universities. ELCLCs operate in nine Afghan universities, namely Kabul University, Kabul Polytechnic University, Bamyan University, Balkh University, Balkh Faculty of Education, Herat University, Herat Faculty of Education, Kandahar University, and Nangarhar University and as well as provide ICDL trainings to the staff of Ministry of higher Education (MoHE).
Job Summary:
Center/English Language Coordinator is responsible for managing all the center related activities. He/she is also responsible to manage the English trainings of the center and teach at least two English classes daily.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Center related duties / responsibilities
Manage, supervise, and monitor the operation of ELCLC center, its staff and organize weekly staff meetings and prepare minutes of meetings;
Establish and maintain good relations with the host university officials and English Department;
Teach minimum of two English language classes per day;
Produce reports on monthly/quarterly/ad hoc basis about the operation of the ELCLC Center requested by the management as required
Work closely with English Language Manager and IT Manager to tackle any issues arising with English Language or IT programs;
Schedule, announce, monitor and evaluate English and IT classes, cultural activities, graduation ceremonies, English clubs, outreach programs, and etc.
Coordinate closely with the University administration to enroll and/or retain students in English and IT classes;
Make sure that English/ICDL curricula are completely followed by English and IT coordinators/instructors;
Conduct interviews, focus groups and/or surveys regularly
Prepare, maintain, classify and organize all center related records and filling system including but not limited to class attendance, (class and activity) progress reports, tests, quizzes and etc.;
Any other task assigned by the supervisor
Teaching/English Language Coordinator related duties/ responsibilities
Supervise English language instructors;
Monitor and observe English language classes;
Make sure English language classes filing and documentations are recorded properly;
Make sure English Language syllabi are followed by the instructors
Conduct training workshops for English instructors
Provide technical assistance in English language software and other technologies to the instructors;
Coordinate a variety of English language activities such as cultural activities, ELCLCs English Clubs, and etc.
Provide report on monthly/quarterly/ad hoc basis to the English Language Manager and supervisor
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor(s)
Job Requirement:
Bachelor Degree in English
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in field of management
Experience in teaching English Language
Highly proficient in all 4 skills of the English language
Very strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to provide training
