Job Summary

The chef will be responsible for meal preparation (lunch and dinner) for international consultants in guesthouse conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of quality in meal preparation, maintaining hygienic conditions, nutritional balancing and variety of meals presented. Prepare menus and discuss those with residents of the guesthouse for further comments. The chef should be initiative and hard working to expand the variety of dishes. He has to manage the kitchen staff and supervise them with preparation of meals for national staff too. He will need to practice the appropriate hygiene standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare international meals with high standards
Maintain both kitchen and personal hygiene as a high standard
Prepare menus and ready to discuss those with internationals
Do grocery/supply shopping upon request
Manage the kitchen staff (chef assistants)
Supervise the food prepared for the national staff

Job Requirements

Essential:
1. Private or public sector experience as head chef or lead cook for international menus – minimum 2 years – please supply references to this effect with your application
2. Ability to deliver varied, high quality meal planning and nutritional needs
3. Ability to train assistant
4. Spoken and written English Language ability at a level that meets reasonable standards in communication with International Advisers
5. Rich experience of international recipes and dishes
6. School graduate, University degree would be a plus
Preferred:
7. Experience with management of staff
8. Documented course completion in this field
9. Ability to work in a multinational environment
10. Initiative and hard working
