Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foodstuffs in company kitchens. Must order supplies, keep records and accounts, and plan menus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Ability to prepare food to the preferences of international staff.
â€¢ Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
â€¢ Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
â€¢ Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
â€¢ Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
â€¢ Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
â€¢ Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
â€¢ Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.
â€¢ Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, turkey, and lamb
â€¢ Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff.
â€¢ Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs.
â€¢ Butcher and dress animals and fowl, or cut and bone meat prior to cooking.
â€¢ Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries.
â€¢ Complete a large number of smaller tasks such as ensuring that leftover food is stored properly, performing kitchen maintenance tasks such as emptying the trash and washing dishes, and testing the temperature of food at specified intervals.
Cooking Certificate from any Organization would be desirable, but its not a requirement.
English Language Certificate would be desirable, but its not a requirement
