Job Summary:

A Civil Engineer is involved with the design, development and construction of projects in the built and natural environment. They report directly to ACG’s infrastructure and deployment director. Their role is to ensure the safe, timely and well-resourced completion of projects, including, site survey, building construction, Road construction, and geotechnical engineering. They work in a number of different settings and, with experience, can run projects as project manager. The Civil Engineer works on the design, development and construction of multiple ongoing projects. This individual will work with clients to plan, manage, design and supervise construction projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site investigations

Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.

Developing detailed designs

Assessing and managing the potential risks of specific projects

Assisting tendering procedures and putting together proposals

Managing, supervising and visiting contractors on site

Managing and mentoring junior staff

Communicating and interacting effectively with subcontractors, consultants, co-workers and clients

Thinking creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems

Managing budgets and other project resources

Tracking and managing project changes

Compiling, checking and approving reports and drawings

Using design software and undertaking complex and repetitive calculations

Scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery

Attending public meetings and displays to discuss projects

Implementing all relevant regulatory requirements

Correcting project deficiencies

Job Requirement:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience: Five years of experience in the field of Civil engineering, related to vertical building BS in construction and renovations is required.
Knowledge: Must have knowledge of design and construction practices and civil engineering international and local codes and specifications. Knowledge of civil design calculations and criteria.
Certifications or license preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills a must.
AutoCAD and other civil software
Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering
