Job Summary

Duty Station:, KBL,WAPCA Office with frequent visits to the AWS stations spread over all parts of the country

Duties & Responsibilities


Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws;

Plan out the infrastructure need to install new stream gauges including site selection, necessary survey and levelling works, preparation of drawings and engineering estimates and setting out the layout plan

Resolve all land acquisition issues if any

Quality control and Quality assurance of the civil works

In case of the implementation through a Contractor, preparation of Contract Documents, monitoring and administration of the contract including construction supervision.

Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Preparing site completion reports

Be in charge of the operation of 15- 20 stream gauges.

While at the gauge station, verify instrument accuracy and make the necessary repairs to the equipment at the gauge as need be.

Measure the stream flow.

Upon completion of their field visits, prepare and complete the stream flow analysis.

Any other activities if required by Supervisor

Job Requirements


Must hold a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Meteorology from a recognized Institution or Diploma with more than 5 years of experience.

A minimum three years of work experience in design or construction supervision of civil infrastructures

Good knowledge of computer software particularly AUTOCAD

Experience of working in a similar job of hydromet network is an additional asset. -Working knowledge of English and good command of national languages (Dari/Pashtu) required.
