Job Summary

The Collection Officer will be responsible for collecting delinquent loans that are late by 30 days or more. The Collection Officer works closely with Credit Officers / Supervisors / Managers under supervision of the National Collection Manager to tackle delinquency issues. In addition, he/she maintains close communications with governmental Judiciary departments for resolving cases referred from FINCA.

Duties & Responsibilities

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
• Collection of the late payments and delinquencies in line with FINCA’s policies and procedures
• Preparation of daily schedule for collection of the late payments and delinquencies in collaboration with credit department.
• Monitoring of the collections to identify late payments and delinquent loans
• Maintain close communications with judiciary departments of the government
• Resolve delinquency cases referred to the court
• Conduct frequent field visits to the delinquent clients.
• Prepare a weekly report for the National Collection Manager on the progress of the delinquent repayment collections.
• Report all late payments and delinquencies to Branch Manager/Credit Manager, Credit Supervisor and Collection Manager and explain the cause of the delinquencies and take immediate action to recover the loan.
• Regularly meet with delinquent groups/individuals for the recovery of the delinquent loan.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Attributes:

• University diploma in Law or Political Science or Economics is essential
• At least one year experience in related field
• Experience in resolution of administrative and monetary cases in the judiciary and legal organizations
• Experience in private business, credit, trade, is desirable
• Experience working in the community is essential
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible in terms of traveling in the provinces for short period
• Dari and Pashto fluency required, some knowledge of English is an advantage.
• Computer skills (typing in Dari and Pashto) is essential
