PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The USAID Office of Transition Initiative (OTI) funded Community Cohesion Initiative (CCI) is one of three principal stabilization programs in the USAID/Afghanistan Stabilization Unit. Through CCI, USAID OTI seeks to improve stability in areas vulnerable to insurgent exploitation in order to create an enabling environment for sustainable peace and traditional development programs by (1) strengthening ties between and among local actors, customary governance structures, and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) and (2) empowering community-based resiliencies to mitigate sources of instability.

Job Summary:

CREATIVE ASGP seeks an Afghan National to fill the role of Communications Analyst to be based in Kabul. The role will be a part of the Communications team and responsible to contribute to the delivery of the strategic communications of Creative ASGP. The role of the Communications Analyst will provide the face to the community external to ASGP as well as assist the marketing of ASGP.

Skills Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set up efficient communication tools/system for the program at the central, regional and provincial levels;
• Monitor and update the communication plan for the program;
• Formulate procedures for the receipt, processes and submission of reports;
• Oversee and design the ASGP website;
• Design, develop and update all ASGP marketing materials;
• Improve delivery of capacity building of the Communications staff through organizing training sessions and workshops in accordance with the training needs of the staff;
• Ensure program visibility, as appropriate;
• Represent ASGP to partners and other organizations, as appropriate;
• Design and develop promotional materials;
• Manage and take all the photos, videos, etc related to ASGP
• Keep accessible records of reports, correspondence, literatures, etc;
• Finalize and format quarterly based reporting of project implementation ASGP;
• Review translations of documents to ensure accuracy and message;
• Be a team player and anticipate the marketing needs of the program;
Occasional travel outside of Kabul to regional offices and provincial programs;
• Undertake any additional task as delegated by the External Relations Manager.

Qualifications:

Applications are sought from candidates who can clearly demonstrate in a cover letter and CV the following attributes:
• Five years experience in marketing and development of materials
• Experience with international programs and with donors such as USAID and necessary branding and marking guidelines
• Experience and skills in website development and management
• Knowledge of photography and using the photos to tell a story
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong written and verbal English Language
• Fluency in Dari AND Pashto preferred
• Strong knowledge and experience in the necessary computer
