Job Summary:

Internews Network is an international media development organization, working in
Afghanistan since 2002, Internews Network is seeking a Communications and Outreach Lead candidate for the USAID funded RASANA project, a media support initiative in Afghanistan, which has the goal of further strengthening the media sector, particularly through training women journalists and building investigative journalism skills. The Communications and Outreach Lead will provide leadership on all programmatic media outreach activities under the program. S/he will be responsible for the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Reporting components of the program by coordinating with all program partners and beneficiaries. He/She will also be responsible for undertaking activities that showcase the impact of the program nationally and internationally.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Track and report on all program activities and progress, biweekly and quarterly against work plans.

Provide oversight of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Reporting components of the program.

Develop and maintain relationships with all local program partners and beneficiaries.

Undertake reasonable outreach activities to ensure maximum exposure for the program nationally and internationally.

Oversee the design and implementation of all programmatic media outreach activities in collaboration with local partner organizations.

Provide mentoring and capacity building for local media partners in communications and reporting is concerned.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the media landscape of Afghanistan especially issues facing women and women journalists.

Directly supervise the communications and reporting departments under the program.

Any other duties assigned by the Chief of Party.

Job Requirement:

5+ years of significant professional experience in the Afghanistan media or NGO sectors.

Excellent English language skills both written and oral

Experience in report writing for USAID-funded activities required.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
