Duties & Responsibilities:
ïƒ˜ Coordinate with Community mobilization team in identifying potential beneficiaries to promote rural rehabilitation and secure the livelihoods of farmers and villagers.
ïƒ˜ Organizing of farmers in to groups to become farmer associations in the future.
ïƒ˜ Needs assessment and monitoring of agriculture activities and collecting relevant information.
ïƒ˜ Demonstrated agro-techniques including land preparation, seed cultivation, irrigation ,weed control ,pest and diseases control ,
ïƒ˜ Identified different varieties of agriculture crops and has given the required knowledge about adaptation and genotype characteristics.
ïƒ˜ Designation of orchards and pistachio orchards, planning their saplings and seedlings. Participated in the distribution of apricot, plum, apple, almond and other traditional saplings to farmers.
ïƒ˜ With consideration the security situation he has conducted training sessions in field and provide TOT to community mobilizes, agriculture assistants and had good coordination with the agriculture unit manager.
ïƒ˜ Reviewed work plans and methodology for maximum impact and effectiveness in consideration of growing condition of the district market and province market, prices and availability of specific crops.
ïƒ˜ Liaise with the agriculture team through the line manager and other MC programs to ensure best practice in vegetables, seeds and sapling distribution activities in the north. Reviewed and advised the strategies regarding cash values of fruit trees and growing conditions.
ïƒ˜ Conduct and track a routine, market survey in the identified operational area to better define marketing strategies of vegetable and fruits in the districts, province and beyond. had good documentation and filing system
ïƒ˜ Preparing narrative reports including spreadsheet to reflect asset distribution, with considering the geographic area, number of beneficiaries and any other information relevant to the program in reporting formats.
ïƒ˜ Assist MC staff within and outside of the program for any request for sharing information regarding program expansion or development.
ïƒ˜ Keeping good liaise with other program teams and staff to ensure that all MC community projects are well- coordinated and prioritized by community members.
ïƒ˜ Assist with overall implementation of agriculture activities to follow the activity.
ïƒ˜ Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of activities and impact and make recommendation for improvements.
ïƒ˜ Preparing regular written reports to direct manager.
ïƒ˜ Troubleshoot on reporting and programmatic needs. Advise supervisor on improvements and necessities, as required.
ïƒ˜ Preparing written and oral translation and report writing for program staff, as necessary.

ïƒ˜ Meet with communities to facilitate the identification of needs and priorities using the tools and methodologies developed by Mercy Corps and the Community Mobilization Manager;
ïƒ˜ Assist communities to develop project ideas and mobilize community contribution.
ïƒ˜ Work with the Mercy Corps IDEA-NEW technical team and sector specialist to develop project documentation;
ïƒ˜ Work with communities to facilitate their contribution to project activities.
ïƒ˜ Assist communities to develop appropriate project maintenance plans, as necessary
ïƒ˜ Work with local authorities, organizations and the private sector to support and facilitate project activities;
ïƒ˜ Identify potential sub-grantees for program activities;
ïƒ˜ Actively participate in job-related Mercy Corps and IDEA-NEW training activities;
ïƒ˜ Monitor community and on-going project activities according to the Mercy Corps IDEA-NEW tools and methodologies;
ïƒ˜ Fulfill all program reporting requirements developed by the Community Mobilization Manager;
ïƒ˜ Contribute to the development of program reports, documentation, as necessary
ïƒ˜ Participate in Mercy Corps internal training and staff development activities;
ïƒ˜ Other duties as assigned.
â€¢ This position requires at least a bachelor grade education of Agriculture and three years experience working with NGOs in a similar position with a focus on community outreach, needs identification, mobilization and project development.
â€¢ Preference for candidates who have some background in developing livelihoods activities and who are from northern Afghanistan or have recently worked in Northern Afghanistan.
â€¢ Successful candidates must have excellent native communication skills and a basic knowledge of verbal and written English language. A computer skill is also preferred.
â€¢ The candidate should have at least 3years Agriculture filed experience with NGOs or government.
