About FLAG International:
FLAG International Afghanistan (FIA) is an AISA registered non-governmental organization based in Kabul. FIA provides entrepreneurs, businesses and community groups with business planning, financial instruction and career training opportunities in order to maximize their economic, social and entrepreneurial potential. FIA is also a facilitating partner under the National Solidarity Program, which provides capacity building, infrastructure improvements and technical expertise to communities throughout Afghanistan. In addition, FIA is engaged in agricultural extension training in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, Information and Livestock, engaging with farming communities on new agricultural methods, tools and techniques.
Community Social Worker
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ The Community Social Worker is responsible for facilitating the training required, prior to the election process and conducting the election of the Agriculture Shura members;
â€¢ The Community Social Worker will arrange community meetings, schedule appointments with community members and assume responsibility for all training components, as per the FIA operational requirements;
â€¢ The Community Social Worker will be responsible for resolving any community disputes concerning sub-project choice and implementation;
â€¢ The Community Social Worker will understand the importance of sustainable development and promote this concept among the community members through the dissemination of information and active participation in the Agriculture Shura development process;
â€¢ The Community Social Worker is responsible for training the Agriculture Shuras in recording the minutes of their meetings between community members and FIA personnel and project record keeping. The Community Social Worker is responsible to build the capacity of the Agriculture Shuras in organizational matters and overall community development;
â€¢ The Community Social Worker will provide the requisite training to Agriculture Shuras to ensure that sub-projects are prioritized in order of importance;
â€¢ The Community Social Worker will submit monthly activities reports to the respective district manager according to FIAâ€™s department reporting format;
High School Graduate
Strong interest in Community and supporting rural development and local governance initiatives with 2 years field experience.
Strong communication and observational skills.
Strong reporting and writing skills in Dari, Pashto and English.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
