EDC conducts 350 projects in 35 countries around the world. The Skills Training for Afghan Youth (STAY Positive) project works to mobilize and strengthen at-risk youth to contribute to the economic development and security of Afghanistan. To achieve its goal of engaging and preparing youth for their roles in the world of work, society and family life, STAY Positive provides education and workforce development opportunities for out-of-school youth, builds the capacity of existing vocational education centers, enhances gender awareness and participation and helps strengthen the capacity of Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ministries to better support youth programs. First year program activities will be carried out in Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kandahar.
The Content Coordinator is responsible for content of the all productions that will be done through ICTs component of STAY Positive. This position reports to the Program Specialists/ICTs. This is a local hire position based in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Develop content for shows.
â€¢ Collaborates in the production of programs, promos and PSAs.
â€¢ Identifies and submits show ideas and topics to scriptwriter.
â€¢ Researches topics and themes to write scripts, line copy, and develop show content.
â€¢ Develops novel and creative ways to present content.
â€¢ Attends program meetings, and contributes to the selection of program content.
â€¢ Conduct time to time evaluation with listeners in the field and provide feedback for production team.
â€¢ Makes specific recommendations to Producers and management on program improvements.
â€¢ Works with programming team to identify and select celebrity, expert and specialist guests.
â€¢ Coordinate guest bookings with production team.
â€¢ Researches guest backgrounds, develops interview questions and assists with pre-interviews.
â€¢ Obtains audio materials needed for production.
â€¢ Assists with scheduling program elements prior to air, ensuring that EDC and USAID rotation and policies are followed.
â€¢ May independently produce segments of large programs.
â€¢ Check the script of the shows and dramas and make sure that the content is on the right truck.
â€¢ Conduct regular reviews of show progress against goals of STAY Positive.
â€¢ Reviews work products with supervisor.
â€¢ Monitors assigned team for quality control and reports content error and technical issues to the appropriate individuals for correction.
â€¢ Edits audio (e.g., inserts additional clips, sound bites, etc.)
â€¢ Maintains database of program content for archival use.
â€¢ Any other duties assigned by the relevant supervisor.
â€¢ Bachelorâ€™s degree in communications, journalism or literature
â€¢ At least four years of experience at a media organization or media related works
Requirements and General Skills:
â€¢ Excellent creative oral, writing and communication skills in English and Pashto are required and Dari is desirable.
â€¢ Highly detail oriented.
â€¢ Strong knowledge on vocational training, nonformal education and community mobilization for youth participation.
â€¢ Strong interest in youth, vocational training, nonformal education and community development programs.
â€¢ Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
â€¢ Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment.
â€¢ Able to travel to provinces.
