About APFM

Job Summary

APFM is recruiting a Cook, who will perform the following tasks. The Cook will report to the Head Cook.

Duties & Responsibilities


On a daily basis, purchase food from the market.

Plan the menu planning in consultation with other cooks.

Oversee and participate in the preparation and cooking and serving of main meals, snacks, etc. in accordance with the specified menu.

Determine quantities to be cooked and size of portions to be served.

Prepare lunch and breakfast for all Chemonics staff.

Check food expiration dates.

Wash and clean floors, crockery, utensils, work surfaces and other kitchen equipment to ensure that the necessary hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen.

Ensure that the appropriate clothing, including head wear is worn at all times in accordance with guidelines.

Perform any other appropriate tasks that support the overall project, as assigned by the Head Cook.

Job Requirements


Secondary education is required (High School is preferred).

One year of cooking experience.

Level three English language is preferred.
