Welthungerhilfe it is one of Germany's biggest non-governmental relief organizations. Non-profit making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organization is run by a Supervisory Board of honorary members under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its work is funded by private donations and public grants. Welthungerhilfe is working since the 1980’s continuously in Afghanistan and opened the first offices in 1992. Since this time Welthungerhilfe has implemented some 165 project in Afghanistan. Main fields of Welthungerhilfe intervention in Afghanistan are emergency relief, food and nutrition security, rural and regional development and water and sanitation.
Prepare and cook quality food for WHH staff and provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the office kitchen premises.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares and cooks menu items in proper quantities per the planned and scheduled menu.
Planning day-to-day food items for cooking.
Getting money from logistic assistant based on the amount allocated in the schedule on daily basis.
Prepare accurate food expenses receipt and clear account on weekly basis with logistic assistant.
Using proper tasting technique to insure quality taste and meet standard quality.
To ensure the kitchen and dining areas kept clean all the time.
Maintain sanitation, Health hygiene, and safety standards in work areas.
Prepares tea for all departments’ staff in the morning.
Checking all departments in the afternoon for additional need of the tea.
Collects all the teapots, cups and trays from all departments at the end of the day.
To perform punctually his/her duty per the working hours fixed by the office and will be vigilant during all working hours.
Schedule activities with supervisor, using information about daily menus to help coordinate cooking times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirement:
12 grade graduated
Minimum 2 years related working experience in professional environment.
Good understanding of kitchen/food preparation hygiene.
High level of personal hygiene.
Fluent in Pashto/Dari and some knowledge of English desirable
Good communication Skills
Good sense of humour
Planning and organizing skills including ability to execute tasks with minimum supervision
