Reports to: Project Management Team in Canada
Manage CW4WAfghan projects and programs, implemented in Afghanistan,
according to work plan and timelines specified by Project management team.
2. Regularly monitor and evaluate approved projects that are implemented by
partner organizations;
3. Supervise Kabul Office staff and support them to maintain partner files, to collect
relevant data on projects, and to meet activity deadlines;
4. Develop and maintain constructive relationships with all CW4WAfghan partner
organizations;
5. Organize and implement occasional information and/or professional development
sessions for partners;
6. Provide monthly written reports to the Canadian Project Management Team and
participate in conference/Skype calls with Canadian colleagues;
7. Contribute to CW4WAfghan policy formulation on a variety of issues, including
partner capacity building, new proposals, Canadian development policy, security,
and advocacy issues, among others;
8. Participate in planning exercises for the organization;
9. Assist in building relationships with various stakeholders in Afghanistan, including
communities, government departments, international agencies, local and
international civil society and donor organizations, etc., as needed.
10. Provide a yearly written report to all members of CW4WA at their annual general
meeting held in Canada.
Relevant post-secondary education and training, with graduate education
preferred;
• A solid track record in leadership ability within a civil society organization;
• Project management skills
• Experience supervising staff
• Knowledge and experience in the education sector
• Strong network and relationship building skills
• Previous experience developing a work plan
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in written documents, email
correspondence and in face-to-face interactions
• Task and deadline oriented
• A flexible, self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently
• Willingness to travel within Afghanistan, and to Canada
• Computer proficiency, in MS Word, MS Excel, E-mail and internet
• Excellent English and Dari language skills
