Job Summary

The Credit Analyst contributes to the guarantee and TA operations as defined in the contract between ACGF and SCSA and in compliance with the Guarantee Operations and Credit Risk Manual as well as the TA Manual, specifically in the context of guarantee appraisal and guarantee audits. The Credit Analyst cooperates with the credit staff of the PIs on officer level and contributes to the ongoing TA activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Guarantee Operations
a. Conduct SME guarantee appraisals including field visits and verifications, desk reviews, etc.
b. Be a voting member in SCSAs guarantee recommendation committees
c. Carry out guarantee audits and other portfolio management activities
d. Contribute to the prevention and identification of non-compliance, lack of discipline, fraud etc. on the side of the PIs
e. Contribute to the portfolio analysis and the maintenance of the desired portfolio quality as set by ACGF

2. TA
a. Contribute to the ongoing TA activities for PI staff including coaching in loan appraisal, portfolio management and delinquency management, participation in credit committees of PIs
b. Contribute to other TA activities such as training, product development, consultancy etc.

Job Requirements

a. Academic background in business management, banking, accounting, economics or a related field
b. Credit experience preferred
c. Good knowledge of the Afghan financial sector
d. Business mindedness and good insight into issues of SME finance
e. Excellent command of English, Dari and Pashto Languages,
f. Excellent Communication skills
g. Excellent analytical skills
h. Good reporting skills
i. Good computer skills, especially in Word, Excel and PPT
j. Flexibility and mobility
k. Ability to act on own initiative
l. Ability to work confidentially
m. Good management skills
n. Ability and willingness to spend more than 50% of the working time on field work outside of the office and to travel extensively throughout Afghanistan.
