Job Summary:

The consultant will be responsible for technically supporting of the relational database management systems (RDBMSs) at the AIHRC’s Management Information System (MIS) Data Center for the automated Children Rights Monitoring (CRM)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1 Design a coherent and well integrated web based database system for managing data related to Child Rights Monitoring (CRM)
2 Maintain availability and integrity of CRM databases through multiple access schemes
3 Monitor the CRM relational databases to optimize databases performance, resource use, and physical implementations of the databases
4 Provide technical expertise and training to the IMS staffs
5 Address various database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues and new applications.
6 Monitor and maintain database security and database software.
7 Develop CRM test environments as may be required from time to time.
8 Facilitate sharing of common data by overseeing proper key and index management and data dictionary maintenance.
9 Monitor and manage databases backups, logs, and journals together with systematic data restoration and / or recovery procedures as required.
10 Install, maintain and upgrade database software.
11 Maintain various database related documents such as manuals and programmers handbooks including user unit tailored manuals, where necessary.
12 Train MIS staff with step by step development of the CRM database.

Job Requirement:

Knowledge, skills and ability required,

1 Ability to implement and troubleshot, programming changes and modification
2 Ability to program, configure manger, and maintain the operation of complex relational databases
3 Ability to develop and manipulate large complex dataset
4 Knowledge of computer and / or network security system, application, procedures and techniques
5 Ability to install, maintain, modify and upgrade database software
6 Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise
