The Skills Training for Afghan Youth (STAY Positive) project works to mobilize and strengthen at-risk youth to contribute to the economic development and security of Afghanistan. To achieve its goal of engaging and preparing youth for their roles in the world of work, society and family life, STAY Positive provides education and workforce development opportunities for out-of-school youth, builds the capacity of existing vocational education centers, enhances gender awareness and participation and helps strengthen the capacity of Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ministries to better support youth programs. First year program activities will be carried out in Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kandahar.
The Curriculum Development and Training Coordinator will report to the Workforce Skill and Employment Opportunities (WSEO) Manager and will mainly assist in recruiting the WSEO Curriculum Development Specialists and Master Trainers and developing their work plans, contribute to research for and selection of vocational trades for curriculum adaptation and development, including recruiting and managing subject matter experts for each vocational training area selected.

Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Assist in recruiting the WSEO Curriculum Development Specialists and Master Trainers and developing their work plans.
â€¢ Contribute to research for and selection of vocational trades for curriculum adaptation and development, including recruiting and managing subject matter experts for each vocational training area selected.
â€¢ Support subject matter experts and Curriculum Development Specialists to adapt and improve training packages for each of the selected trades, sales training and cross-functional skills (record-keeping, inventory management, and customer service).
â€¢ Work with Employment Opportunities Coordinator to support development of training packages and trainer guides for self-employment, microenterprise development, sources of finance, and learning materials for home-based female producers.
â€¢ Design and prepare the training-of-trainers model for STAY+ and train Master Trainers in training techniques and specific training packages.
â€¢ Provide ongoing support and mentoring to Master Trainers and implementing partners, as required.
â€¢ Provide training to GIRoA and coordinate on TVET curriculum and training methodology.
â€¢ Participate in monthly technical coordination meetings with implementing partners.
â€¢ Ensure all deliverables met are archived on project share drive for tracking and audit purposes.
â€¢ Perform other duties as required.
â€¢ Bachelorâ€™s degree in language and literature, teacher training. Advanced university degree desirable.
â€¢ Minimum of 5 years experience in education, curriculum development and training.
â€¢ Experience in donor-funded programs preferred.
â€¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
â€¢ Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
â€¢ Ability to work in teams and independently with minimum supervision.
â€¢ Written and spoken fluency in Dari, Pashto and English.
