Responsibilities
The Curriculum Development and Training Expert is responsible for development of training modules, as well as facilitating training.
Principle Duties and Tasks
Develop, review and improve, and prepare for presentation, the substance of the training modules; these are to be carefully adapted to the education level and skills of the local government trainees. The Curriculum Development and Training Specialist will assess what modules require his/her personal development and prepare them, as required.
Identify additional materials in support of the training curriculum. These materials should be made available to the trainers and trainees in a variety of formats (paper, video, CD, internet, etc.) and languages; English and computer training materials should be provided.
Identify the substance and format for training modules to be video-taped as back-up training support to be distributed to government officials and made generally available.
Develop and deliver Training-of-Trainers (TOT) workshop for the trainers. The workshop will cover the substance of the training modules and pro-active, participatory training techniques.
Develop an implementation and staffing plan for back-up municipality training capacity, to support the trainers.
Develop and assure adequate training logistics is in place for the entire training program.
Be prepared to provide the following, optional workâ€
upon KCI decision to observe different initial training programs and provide additional man-days of help and guidance to the trainers.
Qualifications
Education Bachelor in Education or a related field
Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in an equivalent position, experience working in a similar position with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.
Language Excellent Language proficiency in spoken and written Dari, Pashto and English is a requirement
Communication Listen to others, interpreting correctly messages and responding appropriately; pose questions for clarification, and exhibit interest in having two-way communication.
Other Skills Identification, organization, and execution of priority activities and assignments with minimal direct supervision, adjusting priorities as required
Allocation of appropriate amount of time and resources for the completion of assigned tasks
Ability to work collaborative with colleagues at all levels to achieve project goals
