Job Summary

Dairy Project Manager is responsible for Agroindust Dairy value chain project to be implemented in balkh province, in line with the company’s objective. In addition, he will be responsible to develop the dairy project with support of various donors and also attend and manage in various meeting, workshop according to the project activities on provinces level.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties & responsibility of the Dairy Project manager are vast which requires extensive experience, knowledge and educational background. He will perform the below duties with flexibility to adapt to the changes:

Supervise dairy project activities and support dairy staff technically.

Develop working plan for dairy value chain staff.

Prepare concept, proposal for dairy project value chain for various donors.

Support the dairy consultant during conducting dairy value chain analysis.

Implement the project activities in accordance to the work plan.

Identify and select location and site for MCCs/Sub-MCCs establishment.

Follow up the ongoing dairy project with donor.

Participate in various meeting with donors, government and other NGOs to develop dairy value chain throughout of provinces.

Conduct research in accordance to the market demand for dairy products.

Create good communication with government authorities, donors, district development councils (CDCs), community development council (CDC) and local people.

Conduct survey according to the dairy project need.

Conduct research in dairy sector for processing, packaging, packages forms and demands.

Determine the different forms of dairy products in the market.

Develop plan for changes in dairy products form in different stage of production and market demand.

Conduct and suggest the packaging method according to the market demand.

Prepare Monthly/Quarterly /Annual Progress Reports.

Support the field staffs in the VFUs/MCCs mobilization (Technical consultancy ,on the job training, vaccination campaign, to increase the milk flow to the existence MCCs)

Support Agroindust, Inc.in providing technical trainings to beneficiaries and key field staffs.

Responsible to visit different provinces on the need base and regular monitoring of the project activities.

Any other duties will be assigned by line manager.

Job Requirements

Bachelor or Master in Veterinary /Animal Science (DVM) with 7 years of experiences in dairy production management, master degree (M. Sc) with 5 years of experiences in related field.

Computer knowledge

Effective communication, both verbal and written.

Fluent in writing and oral communication of English, Dari and Pashto.

Ability to work within a team and especially with dairy production staff.

Ability to perform independently and under stressful situations.

Ability of initiation and creativity.

Ability to write weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi - annual and annual reports.

Flexible in performing additional task.
