Job Summary:

Data center administrator provides technical support and training to the operational staff for ongoing support of existing Data Center Infrastructure solutions. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

·      Develop quarterly, Semi-annual and Annual Plan in compliance with the organizational plan.

·      Check performance levels of data center hardware and facility systems against established technical standards to ensure proper functioning of existing infrastructure and processes

·      Conduct basic or routine installation, decommissioning, upgrades and replacements of data center equipment or facilities

·      Utilize proactive alerting and reporting systems or tools to highlight abnormal environmental changes in order to optimize system performance other server components.

·      Build, Install, troubleshoot, and maintain server, networking, and storage systems in a multi-platform environment

·      Perform routine checks on data center facilities against the organization’s security policies to highlight any issues

·      Responsible for local inventory, maintenance, and license management

·      Responsible for creation and maintenance of published documentation such as operations manuals, rack diagrams and photos, floorplans, and contact information

·      Maintain logs of physical access controls and environmental controls for compliance with security requirements

·      Provide monthly and quarterly reports on implementation of Sectional initiatives for accountability and performance monitoring

·      Evaluate new hardware/software and services

·      Microsoft Server 2008 / 2012(R2) / 2016 installation, management and related security group functions, roles, and related functionality

 

·      Enterprise Linux server environments and OS installation & management

·      Isolate, coordinate and resolve performance problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools and techniques

·      Perform any other task assigned by the Line manager.


Job Requirement:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies or related field, (Masters Preferred).

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in same positions as IT application engineer, software development.

MCP/CCNA qualification an added advantage.

 

Skills Required:

·      Strong understanding of a process driven environment

·      L2 and L3 MPLS experience.

·      Routing protocol troubleshooting experience (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP)

·      Cisco Certified Design professional (CCDP).

·      Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.

·      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required.

·      Strong written and verbal skills and interpersonal skills.

·      Strong customer service experience required.

·      Availability to work overtime in times of emergency and specialized project deliveries.

·      Understand and manage the pressure of a 24x7 customer support environment.
