The Mine Action Coordination Centre of Afghanistan (MACCA) supported by the United Nations in partnership with the Department of Mine Clearance coordinates the activities of the Mine Action Programme for Afghanistan (MAPA) including survey, mine clearance, battlefield clearance, mine risk education, and victim assistance activities throughout the country since 1989 and the mine action services reach almost every corner of the country.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the IMSMA Data Verification and Output Supervisor will report to Mine Action Coordination Centre of Afghanistan (MACCA) Information Officer for the following assigned tasks:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage reception, verification of data entered into IMSMA and preparation of output reports to all clients of IMSMA.
• Responsible for cross checking reports produced by other Data Processor at MIS and other offices.
• Supervise and provide advice to the Data Verification and Output Assistants in his/her responsibilities.
• Verify all the field reports that have been entered to IMSMA and correcting any erroneous data entered into IMSMA.
• Verify all coordinates on the GIS and make sure that the new entered Hazards or Process located in correct area.
• Ensure accuracy of data processing of all the reports and provide regular feedback to Information officer and Chief of Information on data inconsistencies.
• Print summary IMSMA reports for operational cross-checking of all the figures reported by the NGOs and partner agencies after reports have been processed by the AMAC.
• Liaise through AMAC Operations with all partner agencies and NGOs relating to data accuracy and information provision.
• Maintain a digital filing system on IMSMA server for all IMSMA Reports received by the MIS office data processing unit.
• Coordinate with Senior Database Developer for any output reporting requirements.
• Responsible for archiving IMSMA monthly back-ups and perform new monthly backups of IMSMA data.
• Prepare and design statistic reports on IMSMA data whenever requested by other offices.
• Establish a good relation with the all MACCA and implementing partners.
• Perform quality assurance checks on all active hazards and processes in IMSMA.

Job Requirement:

• Secondary Diploma required (Bachelors Degree in the field of Information Technology, Information Management of Computer Science is an asset)
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field of Information Management, preferable in mine action.
• Good knowledge of MS Office especially MS Access and MS Excel.
• Good working skills with database structure and designing.
• Advance working knowledge of the Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA).
• Advanced technical skills related to EDP hardware and software is desirable.
• Excellent working knowledge of both written and spoken English, and local languages (Pashto and Dari).
• Ability to work independently while under pressure and during long hours – must be flexible and adaptable to any situation.
• Posses excellent work habits with a willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Courteous and excellent communication and inter personal relation skills.
