About Mine Action Coordination Center of Afghanistan:
The Mine Action Coordination Centre of Afghanistan (MACCA) supported by the United Nations in partnership with the Department of Mine Clearance coordinates the activities of the Mine Action Programme for Afghanistan (MAPA) including survey, mine clearance, battlefield clearance, mine risk education, and victim assistance activities throughout the country since 1989 and the mine action services reach almost every corner of the country.
The Database Programmer under the direction of the Senior Information Officer is responsible to the Chief Information Officer for all assigned tasks as follows:
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Assists in maintain a high standard for the information in the Mine Action Information System.
â€¢ Assist with planning, designing, development and programming of all modules for IMSMA database, add-on databases tables, forms, queries and reports as directed by the Senior Information Officer.
â€¢ Assist with drafting technical specification documents for new proposed modules to be linked to IMSMA.
â€¢ Assist with routine maintenance of all modules of IMSMA relations, components and data integrity.
â€¢ Programming the required tools and statistics reports as directed by the Senior Information Officer.
â€¢ Develop and maintain the user guides and the technical programmer references for all additional modules of the IMSMA.
â€¢ Assist the IMSMA Officer in the customization of IMSMA as per user requirements and update all customization documentation accordingly.
â€¢ Produce standard data and data quality reports from the Mine Action Information System as requested by the Senior Information Officer and/or Senior Database Programmer.
â€¢ On a periodic basis visit all AMAC offices to ensure a high level of functionality and quality of MIS work.
â€¢ Understudy the Senior Information Officer and Senior Database Programmer in his/her responsibilities.
â€¢ Complete additional tasks assigned by the Senior Information Officer.
â€¢ Secondary Diploma required (Bachelors Degree in the field of Information Technology, Information Management of Computer Science is an asset)
â€¢ At least 5 years of working experience in the filed if of Information Technology, Information Management or Computer Science.
â€¢ Advance skills in MS-Access, Visual Basic, SQL, and MS Office.
â€¢ Advanced knowledge of software engineering theory and applications.
â€¢ Advance skills in working with relational databases and knowledge of programming theory.
â€¢ Good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
â€¢ Flexible and adaptable to any situation.
â€¢ Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
â€¢ Posses good work habits with a willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment.
