Job Summary

The Database Specialist will be expected to develop a friendly user database and store, clean and maintain all the collected data related to PPP projects, and generate evidence-based reports as per the requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities


Work closely with M&E, HMIS and performance coordinator and asset & inventory officer on design and establishment and maintenance of database and required systems.

Plan and perform need assessment of database (public and private), and relevant department(s).

Develop a professional and user-friendly database and its operational guideline.

Establish data sharing system within required accessibility.

Contribute in developing management information system to PPP Unit.

Provide capacity building for MoPH staff on management and well functional of database

Provide support to Head of PPP Unit and assist other staff on data requirements.

Develop proper data collection and storage system.

Integration of collected data and assisting in report development.

Coordinate data findings with communication expert and Head of Unit.

Ensure information is stored as needed into the PPP database and updated timely.

Responsible for technical supervision of database and data accuracy.

Ensure backup documents for all collected and /reported information is maintained in hard and soft copy.

Provide timely progress reports to the Head of Unit.

Job Requirements


University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and or related field (the degree attested by MoHE Afghanistan).

5 years working experience in Microsoft SQL Server and developing various databases.

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, and MS Outlook.

Knowledge of troubleshooting and ability to handle large size databases.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language and fluent in a local language;
