Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

The Deputy Director – Administration should:

•Keep good working relations with both national and
international funding institutions.

•Attend daily government communications agenda setting meetings chaired by Presidential Spokesman and contribute to the development of messages to be delivered to the media from the government;

•Coordinate all capacity building interventions of the Center and ensure the staffs’ skill sets are relevant and are kept optimal through effective HR interventions;

•Oversee the work of various administration departments and ensure that their work are complementing each other;
•Produce for forecasts and annual budget of the GMIC;
•Assist in the development of concept papers and proposals and fund raising efforts;
•Ensure that proper and adequate support and services are provided to all projects, programs and daily activities of the Center;

•Oversee operational and logistical activities including transportation, events organization, maintenance of the premises and office equipment;

•Ensure security of all the staff, fleet and premises of the Center and act as the focal point of the security issues for the Center;

•Ensure proper management and maintenance of all GMIC assets;
•
Adapt adequate policies and regulations for the better and effective management of the Center and ensure that all of them are uniformly applied throughout the center; and

•Undertake any other task assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Qualities

The candidate should posses:

•University/Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Management, Finance or relevant discipline. Masters Degree is preferred;

•At least seven years of work experience in a position of similar caliber in a national or international organization. Work experience with Afghan Government is highly desirable;
• Commitment to the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and willingness to defend its views, policies and stances and talk about its achievements, plans and priorities in the public eye;

•Political awareness and ability to analyze unfolding events and information and provide analytical feedbacks and advice; both verbal and in writing;

•Prior relations with Afghan and international media and track record of dealing with media will be an asset;

•Proven ability to produce concepts, proposals and reports;

•Should be a good team player;

•Ability to work under pressure and deadlines;

•Excellent communication skills in Dari, Pashto and also English; and
•Must be computer literate.
