OXUS Afghanistan started Operation in 2005 under support of ACTED, a development and relief NGO, which is operating in twenty five Countries of the world, and Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA). Currently, OXUS Afghanistan has a portfolio of over AFN 816 million with an outreach of about 22,000 customers managed through 19 Branches, 10 provinces. OXUS Afghanistan is a part of OXUS Group, a global network of Microfinance Institutions created by ACTED, a leading international NGO operating in 25 countries. OXUS Afghanistan was created with funding from the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA), a Government Apex agency set up by international donors in 2003 in order to develop and support the microfinance sector in Afghanistan. OXUS Afghanistan Provides conventional and Islamic financing. OXUS -Afghanistan has individual and group lending which helps Afghan people have access to finance. OXUS-Afghanistan provides financing for youth and women as women improvement process and support them for better access to finance.

Job Summary:

The Deputy Regional Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Branches. She is responsible for several branches, and has to make sure that all set targets are met in terms of outreach, quality of portfolio and profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1)Provide leadership and good management to the staff by:
a)Acting as a positive model and giving the good example;
b)Leading the development of the Branches according to the objective and targets set for in the business plan, including outreach in terms of portfolio and number of customers, quality of portfolio and profitability;
c)Monitoring the Branch teams to ensure efficiency and delivery of high quality products and services to clients;
d)Ensuring that related Branches employees receive the training they need to carry out their responsibilities;
e)Ensuring the free flow of information between the team, other Branches, HQ and external organizations;
f)Representing OXUS Afghanistan at all relevant meetings with governmental and traditional officials, MFIs, NGOs, and others.

2)Supervise all the lending activities of the Branches:
a)Manage the team Branch Managers;
b)Set the target plan for the team and control the achievement of targets link with Regional Manager;
c)Maintain at all times the highest quality of portfolio;
d)Control the quality of the services provided by the Branches to their customers;
e)Report the performance to Regional Manager using standard reports on a weekly and monthly basis;

3)Supervise all the financial activities of the Branches office:
a)Create and manage the Branches budget, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and cost effectiveness in
the use of resources on a monthly basis in cooperation with Regional Manager;
b)Review and sign all financial reports;
c)Supervise the management of physical cash;
d)Ensure that the daily, weekly, monthly, or annual reconciliations between the physical cash and cash in accounting software;
e)Make sure information entered in the loan tracking;

4)Participate in the institutional development of the OXUS Afghanistan:
a)Participate in meetings and seminars both within the local organization, nationally, and internationally as required,
b)Cooperate fully on audits of field operations and financial operations.

Job Requirement:

a)University Degree (any country) in Business, Management, Finance/Accounting, Education, similar;
b)Minimum two (5) years working experience, preferably in the field of finance or for a banking institution
c)Minimum two (2) years supervision experience;
d)Strong computer skills including Word, Excel;
e)Excellent communication and writing skills;
f)Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
g)Able to work independently and in a group, willing to take initiative, and energetic;
h)Fluent in English and Dari;
