The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum is seeking an Afghan national for the position of Deputy Spokesperson in the Ministry’s Information and Public Relation Directorate. Deputy Spokesperson is responsible of providing communications and media relations support to the Ministry and the Information and Public Relation Directorate.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop an action plan based on job description.
Assist Spokesperson in conceptualizing, planning, developing, managing and implementing the public information and communication of the directorate, and produce information products: study and analyze communication needs and develop strategies;
Responsible for the management, development and production of the communication activity of the directorate;
Provide information about the work of the Ministry to the media and represent Ministry on behalf of spokesperson for on camera, radio and/or newspaper interviews;
Supervise the translation and interpretation services and Supervise the Ministry’s website and assist Spokesperson in maintaining and updating the content and information for the website;
Provide advice on the content of information materials and activities of the Information and Public Relation Directorate;
Identify and develop new approaches and methodologies for monitoring and evaluation of information and communication activities;
assist and supervise staff in collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports on information and communication activities, for reporting and information purposes;
Overseeing content for Web site, Facebook, and Twitter
Reporting directly to the Spokesperson
Performs such other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relation, Journalism, Law or related field;
Minimum 5 years professional experience;
Strong background in communication and Public Relation as well excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Fluent in written and spoken Dari/Pashto and English languages.
