Job Summary

Serve as Deputy Team Leader/Deputy Chief of Party on $50 million multi-component agricultural development and lending program.

Duties & Responsibilities

Involved in all aspects of HASEL programming and specifically responsible for overseeing technical assistance in Component III (Technical Assistance for Agricultural Modernization and Value Chain Development). Work closely with GoIRA counterparts in achievement of HASEL objectives. Requires exceptional program management skills as well as technical skills in agricultural development, access to finance, and/or rural development. Requires strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with staff to set and achieve performance objectives. DCOP must have ability to work with a range of stakeholders, from high level government officials to private sector leaders to small farmers; and to represent the project with the highest degree of professionalism to USAID, MAIL, the GIRoA and other stakeholders.

Job Requirements

At least 15 years of professional experience in agriculture, rural development, and/or access to finance in the Afghanistan context;
Graduate degree preferred;
Prior experience working on USAID or other donor funded programs preferred;
Prior program management experience preferred;
Strong English language skills required.
