Job Summary

The Detention Counselor shall manage a detainee caseload by guiding and mentoring a detainee to address his assessed needs and reduce the drivers to insurgency through program participation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Must possess at least the following skills and experience to meet the requirements of this SOW.
Must proficiently speak, read, and write English, Pashtu, and Dari.
At least two personal references must be provided before hiring.
Experience with education, detention/correctional classification, social work and/or case management at an appropriate level.
Pass a thorough background investigation including providing fingerprints, retinal scan, and other biometric, family, and demographic information.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Develop an Individualized Reintegration Plan for each detainee assigned to the counselor, tailored to that detainee’s specific needs and taking into account the detainee’s classification.
Determine and schedule the education and vocational courses that satisfy the assessed detainee’s needs.
Monitor detainee progress and serve as advocate as needed.
Maintain detainee files and records as directed.
