Job Summary

The development and communications Assistant will report to the chief Reporting and Communications Office

Duties & Responsibilities

The Development and Communications Assistant will assist the Development and Communications team with all donor reporting and communications, monitoring and evaluation of projects and all tasks necessary to maintain productive, positive relationships with stakeholders in Afghanistan and abroad.
This includes the creation of accurate reports, publications, correspondence, and maintenance of information regarding all activities undertaken as well as interaction with national and international media.
•Assist in monitoring and evaluation procedures of all departments of the organization, and follow the submission of assessment reports.
•Assist in liaising and coordination with government departments, international organizations and community groups to establish strong working partnerships and networks.
•Participate in and facilitate the reporting procedures with all governmental, nongovernmental and donor entities.
•Assist in liaison with domestic and international media organizations, and freelance journalists in order to strengthen media visibility and provide a consistent message of project activities.
•Act as a guide and translator for journalists and visitors as necessary.
•Participate in planning and holding of cultural events arranged by the organization.
•Assist in translation of official documents.
•Assist in drafting of newsletters, press releases and other materials.
•Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• At least School graduate, further professional qualifications an advantage.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
• Strong inter personal skills
• Relevant work experience in development/ communications.
• At least 2 years relevant work experience.
• Experience in donor reporting and/or monitoring evaluation.
• Excellent English language reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Be familiar with USAID, CIDA and multi-donor funded projects.
• Ability to work independently.
• Creative and flexible
