The position reports to the Chief Academic Officer
Oversee all aspects of admissions and enrollment for undergraduate and graduate degree programs
Develop strategies that are appropriate to the Afghan context to expand, attract, recruit and enroll a diverse student body
Work closely with the Provost Office to provide leadership in developing, managing, implementing and evaluating the marketing strategy and all aspects of the recruitment and admissions process, and its structure, policies, and procedures;
Work closely with the Financial Assistance team to develop appropriate aid strategies to optimize recruitment efforts
Make effective use of PowerCampus and other technologies which may be available to managing all phases of the recruitment and admission effort, and will participate in recruitment events and travel throughout Afghanistan as needed;
Develop and implement- independently or in tandem with other units- new events and programs (such as college exploration, welcome and orientation programs) and creation of applications, brochures, master calendar and additional liaison activities
Be able to work overtime and travel frequently within Kabul and across Afghanistan.
Masters degree in a related field
A minimum of 8 years of increasing responsibility and thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, objectives, policies and procedures related to advising, recruitment, admissions, financial aid and international programs, and in conceptualizing, planning and implementing college recruitment programs
Proven experience as an effective public speaker with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong demonstrated skills in supervision, management, selection, performance evaluation, leadership, conflict resolution, problem solving, team building and organizational effectiveness within a high volume, results-oriented office
Proven ability to provide sound budget forecasting and strategic planning recommendations
Knowledge of marketing principles, practices, and techniques relevant to student recruitment and the ability to adapt them to the Afghan context
Significant experience working with international applicants to US universities;
Knowledge of the factors, trends, and issues that characterize and influence the global expansion of American-style higher education;
Significant experience with the admission of applicants from international schools;
Working knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto – fluency would be a plus;
