Under direct supervision of Operations Manager assists in answer questions and record actions; respond to emergency telephone requests as Appropriate, referring to supervisor as needed. Maintain computerized records and files related to the operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the transportation operations in the planning mission numbers and distributing the missionâ€™s sheet to truck drivers to include keeping hard and computerized copy of the documents, receive transportation requests for field trips and excursions, plan and prepare documents (reports, records) for the purpose of answering questions and recording actions, keep both manual and computerized records for the purpose of the efficient operation of the department, dispatch workers to regular and emergency duties in the absence of department supervisors for the purpose of responding to emergency telephone requests and work orders, perform related duties as assigned.
If any emergency occurs immediately notify the Ops Room Manager.
Initiate and co-ordinate emergency response.
When an emergency occurs immediately conduct traceability and accountability checks
If any injuries occur ensure that the injured party receives medical attention as soon as possible.
Completed Incident reports must be handed to the Ops Room Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Any combination of education, training, and/ experience which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties.
A typical qualifying background would include graduation from high school or equivalent, prior employment, and preferably two years experience as dispatcher for Traffic operations unit.
Knowledge of: Computer office programme, DATA entry and knowledge of SAP are essential Some emergency management experience preferred.
