Afghanistan Cricket Board, Multi Location
The Domestic cricket officer is responsible for performing ACB’s domestic cricket programs and for the management of ACB’s development of cricket. These roles will be primarily involved in developing domestic cricket in all of the provinces of Afghanistan. The domestic officer will collaborate with the domestic manager, to provide assistance for, the Regional and Provincial Cricket Managers in this development.
REPORTS TO
The Domestic Officer will report to Domestic manager of the ACB
Provide strategic leadership assistance to domestic manager for domestic cricket development and domestic cricket staff
Assist development, coordination, and implementation of a range of cricket projects and to increase participation and performance levels from the school playground to international competitions.
Deliver high quality, in-school programs, linking suitably talented players with district youth and senior adult teams and clubs and thus ensuring sustainability in the game.
Carry out appropriate administration and reporting tasks as required. Ensure effective evaluation and reporting take place with regard to all development planning targets
Plan capacity building activities and training for regional and provincial cricket development in collaboration with the domestic manager.
Collaborate with local managers to organize all domestic competitions and tournaments at regional, provincial, district, school and club levels, including:
Monthly reporting meetings with the ACB domestic manager.
6-monthly performance appraisals with the ACB domestic manager
Design a database to maintain records of players, rankings, grounds, and pictures for T-20, ODI, and Two-Four days matches.
Frequently monitor and assist cricket academies at central, regional and provincial levels
Plan capacity building programs for local team and club development with collaboration of line manager
Work within approved budgets and ensure agreed budgets are monitored, controlled and adhered according to ACB procurement plan
Prepare, submit and/or present reports/presentations, as and when required by the CEO or other officials
Assist line manager in liaising with the Marketing and Media Manager as and when appropriate, regarding the promotion of specific programs, events, or initiatives.
Work with the domestic manager and Marketing and Media Manager to ensure the integration of appropriate marketing and communication opportunities associated with domestic cricket development.
Develop annual domestic cricket work plan with the ACB regional and provincial representatives
Contribute to the development of the national cricket development strategy
Work in partnership with key internal and external staff in devising, implementing and reviewing domestic development policies
Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The Domestic Officer will be expected to travel extensively to the regions and provinces as a part of the role of developing and support domestic cricket and regional and provincial manager and staff in collaboration with the domestic manager.
Bachelor degree with 5-year work experience
Experience in Cricket Development issues
The candidates must be played cricket in domestic tournaments or club level
Strong understanding of theoretical and practical cricket issues including familiarity with ICC and ACC rules
Highly developed written, verbal, communication and relationship building skills.
Experience in dealing with media organizations would be desirable.
Experience in using social media for events would be an advantage.
Excellent time management-skills are required with the ability to work on one’s own and be
Self motivated.
Demonstrable working knowledge of modern Microsoft IT and software packages including
Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
