Capital Region Independent Development Authority (CRIDA), Multi Location
CRIDA is currently looking for a Drainage Design Engineer to play active role in Infrastructure Planning and Design division and contribute in managing and preparation of multidisciplinary technical Tasks for achieving the strategic goals of CRIDA on objective basis.
Reporting Line: The Drainage Design engineer will report directly to the Drainage Design Manager and Storm Water Management Department and/ Director of Infrastructure Design Division.
Duties/Responsibilities:
To assess the existing situation of Drainages located within Capital Region and to prepare action plans for effective management of Drainage.
To carry out watershed delineation and hydrology calculations for improvement of Urban Drainage Systems.
To prepare all designs, proposals, technical drawings and reports regarding urban Drainage within Capital Region with the relevant codes and engineering practices.
To maintain and update the design and construction schedules for all Drainage and prepare progress reports.
To conduct site visits for assessing, evaluating, monitoring and reporting of Drainage & during construction.
To develop, coordinate or manage Drainage programs or projects.
To prepare proposals for donors and ministry of finance to attract funds for the development of Drainage projects.
To prepare technical documents, administer and implement the Drainage & Waste Water Treatment Program.
To conduct and manages field investigation, environmental sampling and monitoring and prepares engineering report to maintains environmental records and inspection reports.
To establish and implement environmental, health and safety policies and procedures for Urban Water disposal and reuse.
To perform other related duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree or experience in environmental science; civil, sanitary; Irrigation and Drainage Engineering. ;
Minimum 4 years of practical experience management and design of Drainage and Irrigation Canals Experience in design of Irrigation and Drainage Canal highly desirabl
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Knowledge of modern Drainage principles and practices; knowledge of laws and regulations related to Drainage and urban water management.
Knowledge of ordinances, rules and regulations relating to environmental management and ability to enforce them.
Knowledge of personal computer, including Internet applications, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software
Ability to present ideas and findings clearly and concisely in written oral or graphic form.
Ability to conduct and participate in environmental studies, analyze information and formulate Recommendations based upon studies.
Ability to apply related engineering knowledge to specific administrative and technical problems.
Ability to plan, supervise and coordinate technical, operational and administrative activities and programs.
Good knowledge and efficient skills of Design software programs
Excellent writing and spoken Pashto, Dari and English are an asset;
Excellent communication skills.
Background in/ understanding of Canal Design /or infrastructure.
