About Afghanistan`s Peace and Reintegration Programme :

UNDP Afghanistan is supporting the Government of Afghanistan to implement the Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Programme. This programme is supported by the international community and the United Nations to bring long term security and stability to Afghanistan. To implement this programme, a Peace and Reintegration (P&R) Trust Fund will be established to support various reintegration efforts, including training programmes, development activities and technical support.

Job Summary:

The Driver will provide driving Services to the APRP staff

Duties & Responsibilities:

Summary of Key Functions:

• Provision of reliable and secure driving services
• Proper use of vehicle
• Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle
• Availability of documents/supplies.

• Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services by driving an office vehicle for the transport of high-ranking officials and visitors and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items, Provides regular shuttle bus services along established routes within Kabul and other destinations if required.

• Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.

• Ensure quality control of repairs and maintenance and safety condition of the vehicles including daily entries in vehicle log books and ensures that vehicles are cleaned and fuelled. Coordinate with the senior driver to ensure that mechanical condition of all vehicles and daily maintenance of the shuttle buses are performed.

• Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.

• Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.

• Travel on different missions outside duty station when required.

• Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirement:

Education:
•Secondary Education. Valid Driver’s license.
•Professional driving courses is desirable.

Experience:
•Minimum of 3 years work experience as a driver with National and International Organization.
•Good Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
•Good skills in minor vehicles repair.
•Experience in driving various types of vehicles.
•Good familiarity of Kabul and other major cities in the country.

Language Requirements:
•Good knowledge of English.
•Fluent in Dari/Pashto is required.
•Knowledge of other local languages will be an advantage.
