Job Summary

• Assume responsibility for and coordinate and edit organization publications ;
• Write and compile content for public awareness products such as , brochures, newsletters, posters, etc;
• implement the overall production process in close liaison with Program staff, including layout and graphic design services, quotations, printing and distribution;
• Provide professional and technical advice to organization on format, length and content of publications, as well as the choice of medium;
• research, write and produce annual report, in electronic and paper forms;
• Maintain and update corporate electronic online content (website);
• Participate and provide technical advice in developing and implementing communications initiatives and strategies;
• Write monthly columns in AWRC quarterly newsletter;
• Provide general information on the organization and its activities to media and the public;
• Coordinate in effective purchasing of required goods for production of other media; (electronic publishing, Video, Multimedia, Radio…);
• Perform other duties as directed by Management

Job Requirements

1. University degree in journalism is preferred;
2. At least five years experience in writing, editing and publishing;
3. Ability to edit and write a wide range of materials Good;
4. English writing, speaking and comprehension skills is preferred;
5. Fluency in the two main Afghan languages, Pashto and Dari (writing, speaking and comprehension);
6. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, design, Corel draw photo editing and publishing related software;
7. Good general knowledge
8. Demonstrable excellent verbal and written communications skills, both at a technical level and in the preparation of information;
9. Understanding of digital photography; and some knowledge of video production;
10. Highly organized, detail-oriented and team-player who has the ability to manage the work of consultants and outsourcing,
11. Must be of a good and respectful character, and be able to conduct business with the whole national and international community regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, race, tribe or culture with respect, and professionalism;
12. Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member;
