Education Development Chief of Party

Job Summary:

To oversee project technical implementation and administration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•Fully delegated responsibility and decision-making for technical and administrative project implementation and management.
•Develops partnerships with Afghan government, the PRTs, donors, other implementers, NGOs stakeholders, and beneficiaries to foster implementation and ensure effective donor coordination.
•Oversees the design and development of implementation strategies and timeline and responsible for all contractual requirements, including reporting. Leads program implementation and oversees all technical and managerial decisions related to projects, partnerships, staffing, budgeting, finances, training, and donor relations.
•Provides technical guidance in relevant program areas and ensures appropriate, timely, and accurate results reporting and performance monitoring.
•Ensures cross-cutting issues of local capacity-building (Afghanization), conflict mitigation, gender, and youth are fully integrated into all activities and effectively reported on.
•Serves as main representative of Chemonics for the program.
•Directly supervises deputy chief of party and component team leaders, and other expatriate and local national staff as identified.

Job Requirement:

• Advanced degree from an accredited university in a relevant field preferred
• Prior international donor experience on similar projects
• 7 - 10 years of applicable technical and professional experience
• Prior experience supervising and managing staff
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
