The ELC Instructor is responsible for the successful delivery of ELC programs in Kabul– Professional Development Institute (hereafter “Institute”). The Institute provides executive education and professional development training. It works in close alliance with AUAF academic units to provide high-quality services that advance the University’s mission and public image, and to provide the University and its supporters with more visibility and an enhanced reputation for leadership in the establishment of international best practices in commerce, IT, economic development, education, and other areas within Afghanistan and the region.
Duties andResponsibilities:
Lessons are delivered according to the PDI schedule and are purposefully planned and managed in accordance with the course objectives, class needs, and quality standards;
Teaching materials produced to adapt and supplement the course are appropriate to students’ needs and expectations;
The Instructor will teach 20 to 25 contact hours per week in English Language Center;
Students are assessed according to Language Center policy;
Homework is set and marked in a timely manner;
The Instructor undertakes to arrive in good time for classes;
The Instructor is responsible for presenting a professional image in appearance and demeanor;
Class records (including attendance) are kept in the hard and soft copy. Enough detail should be given to enable a substitute teacher to take over the class;
The Instructor works closely with the English Language Manager to maintain a robust network of relationships within the private, public, and non-profit sectors throughout Afghanistan to facilitate the Institute’s public relations activities;
Assist the English Language Manager in the efficient and effective administration of English program;
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor;

The position requires the incumbent to reside in Afghanistan
At least Master in English Literature
Afghan citizen preferred
At least five years of teaching English experience
Dari and Pashto language fluency
Manages with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent administrative skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Superior written and oral communications skills
