Progress Consultancy Services (PCS) was established in 2007 with the aim to provide quality services to the public, private and non-for profit organizations according to their dynamic needs. PCS has shown full commitment in the process of development of the war ravaged country, stands by its commitment to undertake responsibilities for social and economical development of the society. Thus, PCS is undertaking a variety of activities to support and achieve this highly appreciated target. Where necessary, PCS employs specialists and other personnel to help achieve its ultimate goal by their skills, dedication and integrity.
Currently, PCS is providing consultancy services that are required to help Ministry of Public Works to implement road construction project. The consulting services involve approval of design made by the contractor, certification of all the works for quality and quantity, contract administration, supervision of supply and installation of tolling facility and benefit monitoring and evaluation.
PCS requires employing an Environment Specialist to provide his/her professional services described below to work in connection with the project mentioned above:
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with preparation of environmental monitoring plan
• Assist with training staff in environmental monitoring
• Assist in coordination of and implementation of key safety features
• Assist to ensure the work is not making any pollution harmful to the environment
• Monitor waste and its resettlement
• Review project design to ensure that environmental impacts have been considered and appropriate mitigation measures incorporated in the document in accordance with donor environmental guideline for selected infrastructure projects (roads and highways)
• Prepare environmental monitoring plan including indicators to be measured, checklist for monitoring and frequency of monitoring
• Assist in developing reporting formats
Job Requirement:
ï± Degree qualified Environmental specialist with 5 years experience in monitoring of Environmental Management in similar projects
ï± Familiar with governmental structures, laws and decision-making.
ï± Excellent skills in MS Word and Excel
ï± Language skills – Dari, Pashto and English
ï± Committed to helping the team to meet its objectives
ï± Committed to sharing skills with staff and building up the capacity of other staff
ï± Excellent communication skills, speaking and writing.
ï± Good communication and negotiation skills
